  He was born on the farm Cossack Post. He was brought up on Champagne in t he Zastron district and educated at Dale College, King Williams Tow n. He moved to Bethlehem in 1950 and worked for G. North & Son for near ly 31 years. He served on the Parish Council of St. Augustine's Church fr om 1960-63 then Churchwarden from 1964-71. He was ordained Deacon in 19 73 and Priest in March 1974.
